Health is a state of complete mental, physical and social wellbeing. The health of families and nations is interlinked with the health of women. In fact, if the woman in a family is ill or passes away it can have serious implications on the health of her family members.

Unfortunately, in our society, women feel a pressure to compromise their own health in order to devote all of their time and efforts to the health and well-being of their family members. The problems women face are not just limited to our society and issues such as domestic violence cross-racial and economic boundaries.

Regardless of these same boundaries, a healthy and self-aware woman will be able to raise her children the same way.

Health awareness in women is very important. It is the perhaps the duty of every member of society to gain and spread provide knowledge of diseases and medical services, safe environment and family planning.

Millions of women in the world die every year because of unavailability of treatments or lack of access to basic health facilities.

The most common and serious health issue for women is complications during pregnancy which takes lives of millions every year.

Women are at times not even allowed to undergo medical treatment or even visit a doctor. The tribal and rural concept of home deliveries is a reason why women remain undiagnosed of many diseases and complications which, when left untreated become a burden for the rest of their lives.

Many of the complications that do occur during pregnancy can unfortunately be attributed to domestic violence where both physically and emotionally abusive behaviour causes mental and physical health to deteriorate.

Side effects of this abuse can lead to poor eating habits and a loss of self-importance, leading to mental health issues such as depression.

It is the right of every woman to be informed about the dangers and causes of sexually transmitted infections, cardiovascular diseases and cure for infertility, diabetes, osteoporosis, how to deal with menopause, workforce and why a mammography is necessary.

Even all the issues outlined above do not make up the full extent of everything that a woman should know about her body in order for her to take care of herself and give her health the importance it deserves. Women make up a vital part of society and the workforce regardless of whether their confusions be inside or outside the home and should be treated with such respect and care.
